On March 8th a very interesting prize-giving ceremony took place\u00a0A Journey to Siena and its Surroundings<\/strong><\/em>, starting from Sovicille and arriving in Montepulciano, bringing together places of the soul and geographical places.<\/h2>\n

The competition Shoot<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>beauty with your smartphone in 7 minutes<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0was launched during a series of seminars on bullying with the title\u00a0Bullies\u00a0& Heroes<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0held in Siena\u00a0last November under the patronage of the\u00a0Municipality of Siena<\/a>, the Province of Siena<\/a>, CRAL-MPS<\/a>, Mens Sana Scacchi<\/a>, the Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo<\/a> and Siena<\/a> and other organizations and institutions that also accompanied the second and final stage of the initiative promoted by the Centre<\/a> for the Study of Psychology of Art and Expressive Psychotherapies.<\/p>\n

The event involved school children of all levels, as well as university students, and was sponsored by Tuscany <\/a>regional authorities, the\u00a0Municipality of Sovicille<\/a>, the\u00a0Municipality of Montepulciano<\/a>, TSN<\/a> Tulips of Black Silk, GSA<\/a>, AGE<\/a>, AGIScuola<\/a>, SNCCI<\/a>, CONSCom<\/a>, Gestalt University of Design<\/a>\u00a0(Mexico), 100Autori<\/a>, Atelier Lumi\u00e8re<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The competition was born from an idea of Paola Dei<\/strong>, an art lover since\u00a0her childhood, who took the inspiration for the contest form a famous phrase of Dostoevsky “Beauty will save the world<\/strong>“, in which the well-known Russian writer did not refer to the empty beauty of appearance, but to the beauty of true goodness. Thus the phrase acquires all its meaning for the young people of this generation. The world will be saved, when beautiful goodness returns to being a goal.<\/p>\n

Testimonials of the initiative: Simone Cristicchi<\/a>, Maria Rosaria Omaggio<\/a>, Grazia di Michele<\/a>, Rossana Casale<\/a>, Michele Caccamo<\/a>, who sent video messages in support of the event.<\/p>\n

The tour of the awarding ceremony began at the Auditorium of the CRAS Bank, where the Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Donatella Pollini,<\/strong> the\u00a0pupils of the Ambrogio Lorenzetti Institute<\/a>\u00a0 and its teaching staff were present.<\/p>\n

After the screening of Italo Moscati<\/strong>‘s film “1200 km of Beauty<\/a>” (1200 km di Bellezza), the winners were proclaimed. A great deal of work has come from all over the province of Siena, where the Sienese countryside, the woods, the emotions of the Contrada and the monuments of the city have been filmed. One of the children wrote a beautiful sentence:<\/p>\n

One day we will all die, but we will certainly die on horseback<\/strong>“.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For the section 6-13 years first classified were: Guendalina Becatti<\/strong> of the Contrada di Valdimontone and Noemi Amandolini<\/strong> of the Contrada dell’Oca. The little girls received\u00a0a box set with films by Hayao Miyazaki, Walt Disney and other cartoons.<\/p>\n

Winner for the 18-25 years section was proclaimed Leonardo Pucci<\/strong>, who told us he had learned to love musicals thanks to Don Andrea, a prister of the Province of Siena, who created a ‘sparkling’ young company, composed of school children. Thanks to this award, Leonardo will be able to attend\u00a0some courses\u00a0at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.\u00a0The committee that judged the works, which by regulation were received anonymously, was composed of representatives of MiBACT<\/a>, TSN, SNCCI, LUMSA<\/a> teaching staff, a playwright and writer. E-goTimes was also part of the giury.<\/p>\n

For section 13-18, the teachers of the schools which take part to the project will decide the winner, based also on the results obtained in the schools.<\/p>\n

The tour continued from the Liceo Poliziani<\/a> of Montepulciano through many\u00a0villages of the province.\u00a0Some of the Poliziani teachears attended the event. Other\u00a0distinguished guests\u00a0were also present: Francesca Profili<\/strong>, city councillor responsible for Education, Professional Training, Sport and Civil Rights, Franco Rossi<\/strong>,\u00a0 councillor for Culture, Paola Tassone<\/strong>, creator, author and referent of the Festival Tulipani di Seta Nera<\/em><\/strong>. The students of the\u00a0high school Poliziani have made two wonderful films, which have the right to enter\u00a0the programme of the\u00a0Festival Tulips of Black Silk<\/em><\/strong> (Tulipani di Seta Nera), sponsored by RAI<\/a>, the\u00a0national\u00a0public broadcasting\u00a0company of Italy.<\/p>\n

The event ended at the Cantine<\/strong>, a wine canteen owned by\u00a0Maria Caterina Dei, with a tasting Vino Nobile<\/em>\u00a0di Montepulciano, one of the most important Italian red wines. All the partecipants visited the canteen, where the statue of a horse represents the symbol of the Sienese soul. The initiative, fully devoted to arts, was attended by Flavio Civitella<\/strong>, a paediatrician, Maria Pia Ceccherini<\/strong>, a teacher from the high school ITIS Sarrocchi<\/a>, the councillor Francesca Profili<\/strong> and many other personalities. During the event Paola Dei<\/strong> and Maria Caterina Dei\u00a0<\/strong>showed\u00a0their video\u00a0about the beauties of Siena.<\/p>\n

The initiative of March 8th was realized thanks to Banca Cras<\/a> di Sovicille, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia<\/a>, Piazza Paradiso<\/a>, Vetrerie artistiche Mario Belli<\/a>, Cantine Dei<\/a>, Piazza Il Campus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On March 8th the national competition was launched.\u00a0 This new exiting competition brings together five\u00a0associations, which have embrace\u00a0this challenging search for beauty from South to North Italy. So let’s wait for the next appointment of the contest, that will show us how young people from all over Italy understand the concept of beauty.<\/p>\n
