Solemn, evocative, magical and capable of transporting us to other worlds and other times, the Don Quixote show staged at the Teatro dei Rinnovati on 4-5-6 April, did not disappoint expectations. The work in 3 Acts of the Classical Repertoire Ballet with the original choreography by M. Petipa and the choreographic restaging by Maestro Marco Batti, on music by L. Minkus, the costumes by Josha Atelier and Natalia Dolvk, the scenography by S.I.R.I.S.rl and the light design by Giovanni Monzitta, with the wonderful interpreters who were able to give life to one of the most famous Ballets ever, have highlighted the dedication put in by the Siena Ballet over time.

Another sold out for the Artistic Director Vincenzo Bocciarelli and another great demonstration of esteem for Maestro Marco Batti who, with his high-level artistic company, now recognized throughout the world, always manages to create events of great quality and fascination. The first dancers Chiara Gagliardo, Giuseppe Giacalone and Filippo Del Sal, accompanied by Matilde Campese, Elena Badalossi, Alessandro Antinori, Stella Boduri, Gabriele Ceccanti, Matilde Ferrari, Laura Lorenzo E., Luana Macedo, Gabriele Memolo, Ciro Napolitano, M. Beatriz Oliveria, Guillermo Raya, Alice Saviotti, with the participation of Ballet Master Laura Ricci and Davide Internullo, won over the large audience who did not fail to express their appreciation.
DON QUIXOTE
The plot of the ballet, taken from the homonymous masterpiece by Miguel de Cervantes, tells the story of a very rich man, Gamache, who tries in every way to marry the beautiful Kitri, who is in love with Basilio, a young man from the village. The girl’s father tries to convince her to marry the wealthy Gamache. From this first part the events unfold to reach an overwhelming ending, also hoped for by the spectators, won over by Kitri’s adventures from the first scenes.
THE WONDERFUL SCENOGRAPHY
The wonderful scenography with a lighting that made the landscapes and the background three-dimensional, provided visually, precise descriptions of the environments favoring the construction of always new meanings. Details, aesthetic taste, light and effective compositions together with a variable composition of gestures, music, dance, made the performance unforgettable.
