Cavalli A Roma 2020: Back In February The Appointment With One Of The Most Beloved Trade Fairs For Equestrian Sports In Italy

Cavalli a Roma is one of the most popular equestrian events in Italy, with thousands of visitors, horse lovers, riders and professionals, who meet every February at the Rome Fair.

This edition of Cavalli a Roma will take place from 13th to 16th February at Fiera di Roma, with a completely renewed format and organized for the first time by Veronafiere, supported by Fise, Fitetrec-Ante, and the Italian National Olympic Committee and sponsored by Volkswagen, Grimaldi Lines, and Kep Italia.
THE PRESS CONFERENCE
During the press conference, which took place on Friday 7th February in the evocative location of the Angelica Library, among precious and rare books, the president of Fise, Marco di Paola, and that of Fitetrec-Ante, Alessandro Silvestri, together with other distinguished speakers, presented the programme of the event. Cavalli a Roma 2020 has a calendar full of events, with a variety of shows related to the world of horses, always putting in the first place the attention to horse welfare.

SHOW JUMPING AT CAVALLI A ROMA 2020
The great surprise of this edition 2020 of Cavalli a Roma is the A6* National Competition: a show jumping race with a prize money of 50 thousand euros, valid for the qualification to the final stages of the 122×122 Fieracavalli Grand Prix.

THE DONKEY RACE
Among the different shows of Cavalli a Roma 2020, funny and folkloristic challenges make their debut, such as the horse relay in mask and the Donkey race, in which riders compete on a donkey back.

EQUESTRIAN ART
For those who love equestrian art, the appointment is from 6 to 8 pm in Hall 7 with Horses in Arena Casting, the new competition dedicated to emerging talents in equestrian acrobatic shows.

THE ROMAN CARNIVAL
The partnership with the Roman Carnival Cultural Association, then, brings to the fair the history and culture of the city of Rome, thanks to the equestrian shows with the protagonists of the Roman kermesse, that has its origins in the Middle Ages.

WESTERN STYLE RIDING
The fans of Cavalli a Roma 2020 could not miss the opportunity to admire the American riding disciplines, such as the special events of barrel racing, pole bending and gymkhana western, in collaboration with Fitetrec-Ante, Federazione Italiana Turismo Equestre e Trec-Ante, in addition to working equitation and horse archery.

AN HORSE FRIENDLY ARENA
With the aim of promoting a holistic approach to the world of horse riding, Veronafiere proposes for Cavalli in Rome 2020 the ethical concept of a “horse friendly arena“, already tested at Fieracavalli in Verona. In addition to that, the presence of a veterinary commission to monitor the state of health of the animals is guaranteed during all four days of the manifestation.

EQUINE BODY LANGUAGE
To conclude, we would like to suggest to our readers an interesting new feature of this edition of Cavalli a Roma, which is scheduled in Hall 7: the “horse tellers“, experts who teach how to interpret the language of the horse, showing the techniques of the different non-coercive training schools with practical demonstrations.

Leila Tavi is a journalist specialized in Russian Politics and Culture and PhD c. in Russian History at the University of Vienna under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Kappeler. She studied Political Science in Vienna and Rome, graduating in History of Eastern Europe at Roma Tre University, with Prof. Francesco Guida and a thesis on travel reports about Saint Petersburg by West Europeans at the beginning of the XIX Century. Previously she obtained a degree in Foreign Languages, with a specialization in German Philology at the University of Rome «La Sapienza». Her new book "East of the Danube" is coming soon.
